SketchWave Rounded Rectangle Demo

SWRoundedRectangle inherits all animation (breathing, rotation, transform), dragging, and trail support from SWRectangle. The key difference is the drawing mechanism: instead of mapping four corner vertices through quad(), it draws using p5's built-in rounded rect() inside a push/translate/rotate/pop block — the same technique used by SWEllipse.

Why a Subclass?

The quad() function that SWRectangle uses cannot produce rounded corners. Adding rounding to SWRectangle itself would require replacing its core drawing method with a branch — violating the Single Responsibility Principle. A subclass cleanly overrides only what needs to change (the drawing method) while inheriting everything else unchanged.

Corner Radius Slider

The corner radius is in user (grid) units, scaled to pixels at draw time. It is automatically clamped to half the shorter side — you can never over-round a rectangle. Drag the slider to zero for perfectly sharp corners, matching the SWRectangle behavior.

How to Use This Demo

• Width / Height: Independently adjust dimensions (2–18 units).
• Corner Radius: Slide from 0 (sharp) to 5 (maximum rounding).
• Breathing: Click "Start Breathing" or press B. Four modes available.
• Spinning: Click "Start Spinning" or press S.
• Drag Center: When animations are paused, drag the center to reposition the shape.
• Trail: Increase the Trail slider to trace the center's path.
• Keyboard: B breathe, S spin, C center, G grid, Q quit, R reset.
