Wile E. Coyote was adventurous with dynamite and we at TNT are likewise with programming! While we and the coyote might often have things blowup in our faces (yipe!) we still have a ton of fun coding whimsical apps and are always looking for new ways to push coding boundaries, especially now that we are using AI!
Join us now as we use Copilot to assist us in our coding adventures. We are a team of Tech Novices who are learning to code and we want to share our journey with you. We hope you find our site useful, fun and inspiring.
It's probably not magic
We used to say it's not magic, but now that we've started leveraging Copilot...well...sometimes it does look like there's some code 'source-ry' going around!
At any rate, check out the sort of things you can do with HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, not to mention PHP. We're harnessing the power of coding, detective work, the DOM and lots of (mostly) free resources!
In fact, this site was built using the powers of the 'Fantastic Four' in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap5).
While it is a Safari...
...our site is best experienced in Chrome. Mobile users, especially take note: if you use a browser other than Google Chrome, some of the features may not work as promised. We do our best to support all browsers, but hey: novices have their limitations, right? If you're an iPhone user, we recommend you get Chrome for iOS and set it as your default browser in Settings. You'll be glad you did.
What are you waiting for? Learn Coding!
W3Schools is one of the first places we go when we have questions about web technologies. You can start your learning adventures there.
We attempt to model educationally sound principles of web design here at the labs and we hope you can use our site as a trustworthy example of how to do things reasonably correctly.
While you're at it...
Check out CodeHS. It is an online training service aimed at middle and secondary students. It features everything needed to learn multiple languages. Many TNT enthusiasts have used it to learn and love coding.
And you CAN'T miss this!
P5JS is a veritable goldmine of coding fun. It's part of the Processing ecosystem and offers tutorials and guides for creating animated art with JavaScript. No only that, you can create a free online account where you can create and save your masterpieces.
A sampling of JavaScript apps
The apps you see above merely show JavaScript in action on this page or on elements in this page. Heck, have you seen our JavaScript apps collection?! Check it out!
Like graphics? Novices contribute to our spiffy graphics sandbox annually. Check in regularly to see new entries. See the graphic to the left? It was created by novice Tyler C in 2024!
Additionally, we are harnessing the power of Processing to write JavaScript-based apps that make animation a breeze. Check them out!
New in 2026!
Our 'SketchWaveJS' ecosystem makes development in p5js much more efficient and robust with classes designed to enable supercharged images that move and breathe!
Where do we get our inspiration?
Many times, from our students, who inspire us (and challenge us) daily.
We also love movies and they often inspire us in our designs as they stretch our imaginations. So you can share in our inspiration, we regularly add movie clips to TNT. Be sure to watch them! When a movie inspired an app, we typically link back to the app it inspired.
We've also got a gallery of images that have served us well to spur dialog, provoke thought and spread (good?) humor.
Wait! There's more!
There are 'server-side' PHP apps too!
Yes, we have PHP-Based apps as well. Some of them even incorporate JavaScript for a full-throttle experience. While you can't readily see the source code for those apps (unlike those written in JavaScript), we often attach 'code snippets' to illustrate important concepts to assist you in your study of PHP.
What about Python?
Python is a great introductory language, but so far we've not had the time to integrate it into TNT. Learn how to snake charm at W3Schools. However, we've added some demos you can explore, often with source code.
..and Java?
Java is a staple in the CS community, but alas, it's not at TNT (yet). Get caffeinated at W3Schools. Also, explore our demos and/or APCS reviews.
Keep up to date...
...by checking our our News section: there we keep a reverse-chronological list of all the stuff that is going on. Many of our apps are written from a saga-based evolutionary perspective, so you can watch them grow from infancy to (almost) full maturity. For novices, we are actually pretty prolific!
Hopefully, previous visitors to TNT Labs notice a new, freshened-up look here! We've incorporated Bootstrap as our primary styling mechanism to help make TNT more responsive than ever before. We can spend more time on coding and less time on styling!
We've recently incorporated some Bootstrap5 Training, at TNT, so saddle up and learn some Bootstrap!
Older TNT Versions??
Things change. TNT has gone through several iterations. Some of that work has been ported over to this installation, but not all of it's been imported. In the meantime, you can visit our former sites if you're feeling nostalgic for a blast from the past. (Get it?! TNT is the bomb!)
